逸仙逻辑讲坛第三十八期预告|Anna Malavisi:生命伦理的扩展
生命伦理的扩展 The Greening of Bioethics
内容简介
Traditionally, bioethics has mainly been concerned with individuals and humans. There is a growing awareness that such an approach is limited due to the types of health problems that are ubiquitous globally, but also the extent of the climate crisis and the impact it has and will have on the health of all living beings. In this talk, I argue that there is a need to consider not only humans, but also other living beings with whom we co-exist. The greening of bioethics is necessary to respond to the challenges our world is facing. I introduce Richard Sylvan’s deep green theory as a deep environmental ethic and discuss how it can be applied within bioethics. There is an urgent need to move away from an anthropocentric worldview to bioethics and extend it to a more biocentric one. But what would this look like, and what would need to happen to get there. I also draw on the work of Paul Farmer to incorporate principles such as pragmatic solidarity and global health equity to this expanded form of bioethics.
